Music Counts LA
Enriching Children With The Gem Of Arts

More About Us
Music Counts LA
Music Counts is a music enrichment program that introduces and cultivates youth in the Arts. We are firm believers in the positive snowball effect that transpires in the brain of children that learn music theory and performance. Benefits such as: better reading comprehension, higher confidence, improved mathematic performance, and a life long skill to name a few. Our goal is to expose as much youth as possible to the gem of music.

Founder
With a passion for percussion at the early age of three, Tony “Mr. T” Tennyson considers himself a lifelong musician. Tony began playing drums as a toddler, which eventually expanded to numerous instruments by the end of high school. This talent landed Tennyson a music scholarship at Florida A&M University, where he received degrees in Music and Education.
Along with being an award-winning film composer and tour musician, Mr. T has also had over a decade of public school teaching experience. “It is only right to merge both loves and build the next generation of music scholars”, says Tennyson.

“Some people think music education is a privilege, but I think it’s essential to being human.”
